People like to do business with someone they trust and know. What better way to gain their trust than social media. Social media has bridge the gap between the business owner and customer.

Thanks for the article

I’m still at the beginning of my career as a teacher but I still feel like I’m not ready to be a professional yet. The challenge is to communicate well with people within the circle. Perhaps this book could help me in dealing with various kinds of people.

Hi,

What a great message. I'm actually in sales myself and I can tell you first hand that some of the deals that I have got from networking are so much much easier than the alternative of cold calling. Because you have attended events and got to know people, you gain their trust and they will do business with you. If you cold call people, you have to work that much harder to gain a person's trust. When dealing with someone from a networking event, the process is usually quick and easy. When dealing with someone from a cold call, decisions can take ages. Thanks for the article.

Gaining trust is the first step in building successful relationships, which will inevitably lead to success in business. People like to do business with people the know, like and trust. What better way to gain trust than breaking bread together!

You mentioned:

"For those of you who feel a bit uncomfortable or even hypocritical networking, give this book a shot"

I found a good way to break through the networking fear barrier was to use our modern day social media, Twitter, Facebook & even just reading blogs & commenting, thus creating a dialogue.

I'm hopeful the confidence this brings me spills over to the "people world" of networking.

Sue Ellen - I taught myself
<a / rel="nofollow">how to stop nail biting</a> here!
