I actually like to network, but I often find myself "socializing" more than "networking." There is a big difference between the two. I often leave these networking meetings feeling like I met some really nice people, but soon realize I forgot to give out my business cards or get theirs. So if you are a social animal like me, you may want to keep focused on the fact that you are there to share about your business, to learn about what other people are doing professionally, and to connect (and exchange contact information).
