You’ve networked and met someone new.
You’ve interacted with them in a social environment/situation.
They have your business card resume and could get a hold of you if they thought to do so.

Now don’t get frustrated because your business card resume is sitting in a pile along with a million other cards.  Some may never see the light of day again, but not yours …

I just received a invitation for Kevin Kermes’ online event on personal branding. It will be held on May 22. He’ll be hosting Jessi LaCosta creator of the Insight-Insync™ method of personal branding. I’ve followed Kevin’s efforts over the past several months and he provides some solid advice.
This is likely to be a valuable webinar for you to attend. I’ve included it on the Career Jockey Calendar of Events.

Just added a number of activities to the Calendar of Events page. The events are from multiple sources, but all are good networking opportunities designed for out of work folks.
There’s a networking event tomorrow at Nikki Beach (worse case you can take a walk on the beach), Back on Track Tues and Thur meetings in South Dade, and a career fair June 4th.
I’ll be working to keep this current with in-person South Florida events and online events for anyone across the globe.

I’ve known Alex Funkhauser and his staffing team at Sherlock Technology Staffing for years.  They have been recruiting South Florida technology people for as long as I can remember.  Alex also keeps a calendar of events.  It contains numerous South Florida networking events which techies can use to meet people in that field.
